As
can be seen from this issue’s cover, our ‘Focus’ this month is
‘Corporate Law’. We open with a very topical subject: dot.com companies and
the legal issues involved in setting them up. This is followed by an article on
another very current matter: Joint Law Ventures and Formal Law Alliances. The
next article explains derivative actions as a course of action available for the
protection of minority shareholders. We conclude the corporate theme with an
article on the Company Law Review in the United Kingdom and how it functions and
its areas of concern.
In
the ‘Features’ section, we are given a glimpse into Singapore’s first law
firm to obtain an ISO 9002 certification, followed by an introduction to the
changes which are about to take place in the law relating to design registration
in Singapore. We also have the first of a two-part article on architects’
liability for defects.
