In spite of the excitement and festivities involved in the double new year celebrations last month, The Singapore Law Gazette editorial team has nonetheless managed to put together a full February issue for our readers, with the broad but fascinating 'Focus' theme of 'Media & Entertainment'. To begin with, we have an article which looks at the Napster litigation in the United States and considers its possible effects on Singapore law. Our second article will appeal to readers with an interest in the entertainment business: it discusses the terms involved in management agreements between artists and their personal managers and gives us a glimpse into the workings of the industry. The final Focus article examines the subject of personal information in the present high technology climate and the lack of legislative regulation in certain vital areas.

In 'Features' this issue, our first article turns to construction contracts and the inevitable variations affecting the scope of works in such contracts. The second article introduces us to the Law Society's four new Council Members, who have obliged us with interesting and insightful answers to a series of questions put forward to them.
