Supping in the Courtyard
After the broad hints dropped in our October 2000 issue of the SLG, we finally did wrangle an invitation to the private in-house cafeteria of one of our largest law firms. With swanky new furniture and home-styled cooking, it is no wonder that associates are finding it difficult to say 'No' to long hours. Unfortunately, as entry is only to employees and members, curious outsiders are kept out, save for brazen Obiter contributors. Our eagle-eyes also spotted happy clients partaking of the fare over lunch meetings. Talk about catering to a client's every need!

There's a proper form of address in the courts of Ontario. In the Magistrate's Court, it's "Yes, Your Worship." In the County Court, it's "Yes, Your Honour." In this court, it's "Yes, Your Lordship." Now, what is your answer?' 'Yes, my God!' the bewildered fellow replied.
