The Social & Welfare Committee had yet another successful fund-raising night on 12 September 2002.
This time, on the finer side of life, the committee organised a Wine Tasting Night at the Provignage. Tickets sold like hotcakes to lawyers and non-lawyers alike and it saw a night of intermingling of people from different
industries emptying the very cellar of the Provignage.
The wines served were a sparkling French Pol Roger Champagne, three white wines being a 2001 Australian Deen Sauvignon Blanc, a 1999 Argentinean Luigi Bosca Riesling and a 1999 Italian Lungarotti Chardonnay. We were also served
a 2000 French JP Chenet Cinsault Rose, and three red wines, a 2000 French Cornerstone Merlot Cabernet, a 2000 Chilean Canepa Cab Sauvignon and a 1998 Spanish Beronia Crianza.
Let us proudly announce, at this juncture, that the Provignage has made it possible for all lawyers to have monthly quality time with the grapes at the cellar every last Wednesday of the month, from 6pm onwards, starting 30
October 2002. All red wine, white wine, beers and standard drinks are at a mere price of S$5 nett!
Apart from raising funds for our Welfare Fund through this event, people who attended also did a further bit for charity by purchasing lovely glycerine soaps with special oil scents at the door to aid reforming drug addicts,
ex-prostitutes and single mothers in Nepal. It was a resounding success.
The Committee hereby extends their gratitude to all members and their family and friends for the support given for the event as well as the charity.
As we proceed to close our social programme for this year with the Annual Dinner & Dance, we look forward to your further support.
You guys have done well for our Society!
