Statutory Corporations (Capital Contribution) Bill 2002 (B7/2002)
This Bill is introduced for the following purposes:

  1. to introduce a new s 7A to the Financial Procedure Act (Cap 109) to empower the Minister for Finance to invest by way of capital injection into any statutory corporation established by written law out of a capital contribution appropriated by Parliament from the Consolidated Fund for the statutory corporation; and
  2. to amend various Acts to require the statutory corporations constituted under the relevant Acts to issue such shares and securities to the Minister for Finance as that Minister may from time to time direct as a consequence of the vesting of any property, rights or liabilities of the government in the statutory corporation under the relevant Act, or of any capital injection or other investment by the government in the public authority under any written law.

Government Securities (Amendment) Bill 2002 (B8/2002)
When in force, this Bill will amend the Government Securities Act (Cap 121A) to deal with a new class of government securities that are redeemable at any time and at the election of the holder thereof.

Trade Development Board (Amendment) Bill 2002 (B9/2002)
When in force, this Bill will amend the Trade Development Board Act (Cap 330) as follows:

  1. to change the name of the Trade Development Board to the International Enterprise Singapore Board retrospectively from 1 April 2002;
  2. to expand the functions and duties of the International Enterprise Singapore Board to include assisting Singapore-based enterprises internationalise their businesses and compete internationally; and
  3. to allow the International Enterprise Singapore Board to invest its funds and moneys in the Singapore Rubber Fund in such securities as the Board thinks fit, instead of just securities which trustees are by law permitted to invest in.

Sale of Food (Amendment) Bill 2002 (B10/2002)
Pursuant to this Bill, the Sale of Food Act (Cap 283) will be amended to enable the Agri-food and Veterinary Authority to administer the Act, to expand the scope of the Act to cover certain food establishments, and to make a consequential amendment to the Environmental Public Health Act (Cap 95).

The Ministry of the Environment presently administers the Sale of Food Act.

Agri-food and Veterinary Authority (Amendment) Bill 2002 (B11/2002)
This Bill seeks to amend the Agri-food and Veterinary Authority Act (Cap 5) to transfer to the Agri-food and Veterinary Authority the functions, property, liabilities and employees of the existing Food Control Department of the Ministry of the Environment.

National Environment Agency Bill 2002 (B13/2002)
This Bill seeks to establish and incorporate a new public corporation to be called the National Environment Agency ('the Agency') and to transfer to the Agency the functions, property, liabilities and employees of the departments within the following:

Sewerage and Drainage (Amendment) Bill 2002 (B14/2002)
When in force, this Bill will amend the Sewerage and Drainage Act (Cap 294) so as to abolish the registration of plumbers and to make consequential amendments arising from the abolition.
