A Celebratory Luncheon

Thee Law Society organised a National Day luncheon which also celebrated the opening of the Bar room at the New Supreme Court building, on 12 August 2005. Members mingled freely with the invited guests, which included the Attorney-General, Judge of Appeal, Supreme Court Judges, Judicial Commissioner, Solicitor-General and Second Solicitor-General. It was a relaxed event, as members and guests toured the elegant Bar room, chatted and ate their way through the buffet spread. The occasion was also marked by a cake-cutting ceremony, with Attorney-General, Mr Chan Sek Keong and Judge of Appeal, Justice Chao Hick Tin doing the honours, following a brief speech by President, Mr Philip Jeyaretnam, SC.
