The Right Honourable
Lord Woolf Comes to Tea

The Law Society was honoured by a visit from the Right Honourable the Lord Woolf
of Barnes, Chief Justice of England and
Wales, on
19 August 2005.
The President, Vice Presidents, Council members and several chairs of committees
were on hand to welcome Lord Woolf, who was accompanied by his legal secretary,
Ms Kay Taylor, and two aides-de-camp. Discussions with Lord Woolf centred on a
wide range of topics, including civil procedure, codes of conduct for the
judiciary, the state of relations between the Bench and Bar in the UK, young
lawyers and constitutional reforms in the United Kingdom. It was an engaging
session as Lord Woolf shared his wisdom and views with humour and candour.
