1 April 2006 marked the first anniversary of the Law Society’s vMCPD Scheme – a two-year pilot project to deliver more varied and value-added Training & Continuing Professional Development (‘CPD’) programmes to members and to gather data for the future implementation of a mandatory CPD scheme for the profession. During vMCPD, members are encouraged to attend CPD programmes voluntarily and no mandatory standards or reporting requirements are imposed. Find out more about vMCPD at the CPD Portal <http://www.lawsociety.org.sg/cpd> www.lawsociety.org.sg/cpd under ‘About vMPCD’.
Did you know that:
1 You chalk up CPD Hours when you attend events organised by any of the 20 external training providers (including SAL, IP Academy, SIAC,SMC, LexisNexis, Key Media) which have applied for recognition under the Society’s vMCPD Scheme?
2 In the year since its launch, our dedicated CPD Portal has seen almost 22,000 page loads?
3 Our Training Management System has been used to manage more than 150 events by the Law Society and its approved training providers?
4 There have been more than 3,370 registrations for CPD programmes of the Law Society and its approved training providers in the past year?
5 You can check your training records online at http://www.lawsociety.org.sg/CPD www.lawsociety.org.sg/CPD under ‘Online Services’?
This first year of the pilot has been a successful one, thanks to our members, CPD delegates, collaboration partners and training providers.
To say a big ‘thank you’ for your support, the CPD Committee will soon offer attractive discounts of 10-20% for all online registrations and payments for Law Society CPD programmes, so you have even more reason to make a commitment to continuing excellence. Watch out for more details to be announced shortly!
