NEWS Johor-Singapore Games 2006 |
We played host to our neighbours across the Causeway on 15 and 16 September 2006, in the Johor Bar vs the Law Society of Singapore Games (known in short as the ‘Johor-Singapore Games’).
It was a good occasion to reciprocate the excellent hospitality we received from the Johor Bar Council at last year’s games held in Johor Bahru.
The Law Society did very well this year and we got to keep the Challenge Trophy. We played a total of four games and won three of the games. The scores were:
Games Malaysia Singapore
Table Tennis 1 6
Badminton 1 4
Soccer 2 6
Golf Malaysia
The camaraderie built up between both sides during the games was extended into the evening as we enjoyed a 10-course seafood dinner at the Fisherman’s Village (East Coast). Special gifts and plaques were exchanged to commemorate this event. As we said our reluctant goodbyes, we made an appointment to see our Malaysian counterparts at next year’s games.
Our thanks are extended to Warren Country Club for hosting part of our games at their excellent club facilities.
