Council Tea Sessions with Members
Council noted that it was a project of the Society’s Project Work Plan 2007
for Council to organise tea sessions with members to promote camaraderie amongst
members.
Council decided that three tea sessions would be held this year. The sessions
would be organised by Council member, Ms Lisa Sam, who would put forward a proposal
for the programme for Council’s consideration.
Charity Project to Commemorate the Society’s 40th Anniversary
Mr Lee Terk Yang informed Council of a proposal for a charity project by the
Social & Welfare Committee to commemorate the Society’s 40th anniversary.
The Committee proposed to approach members to make contributions or donations
in kind for the benefit of one or more charities. Council gave in-principle
approval for the Committee to proceed to plan the details of the charity project.
The Law Society of Singapore Directory
2007/2008Council agreed with the recommendation of the Publications
Committee for the appointment of a design firm to design and print the Law Society
Directory 2007/2008. Council noted that the production cost of the Directory
would likely be met by the revenue from the sale of advertisements in the Directory.
